Jane Williams supported Manor Park with numerous gifts that supported the construction of the Margaret Cowden Clubhouse, the Cottages, and the courtyard pavilion at Helen Greathouse Manor.
Jane’s dedication to and appreciation of Manor Park was further expressed in 2016, by a gift of $25,000 to establish the Jane Williams Endowment Fund to support general operations of Manor Park. In 2022, $1 million from her estate was directed to her endowment fund and added to the corpus. Jane’s amazing gift will support Manor Park in perpetuity. The corpus of the fund is permanently restricted, but a percentage of the income earned each year helps offset operating expenses.
In recent years, distributions to Manor Park from the Jane Williams Endowment Fund have totaled $42,168 for 2023 and $44,785 in 2024.
Richard Watts, former employee of West Texas National Bank (WTNB) and Manor Park resident, helped secure a $10,000 donation from the bank to the Benevolent Care Endowment Fund in 2022 and again in 2023.
On October 2, 2024, the President of WTNB, Chris Whigham, presented a $15,000 check to Manor Park in memory of Richard. His wife, Joyce, along with family and friends were there to celebrate this wonderful gift in memory of a great man.
The Benevolent Care Endowment Fund supports Manor Park residents that have outlived their resources. WTNB and many generous donors believe in our efforts to never have to ask a resident to leave Manor Park for financial reasons. In fiscal year 2024, the annual distribution was over $220,000 to help offset the expenses of the benevolent care program.
