The Mabee Health Care Center is licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services as a 162-bed Nursing Facility, in accordance with Health and Safety Code, Chapter 242. Services are available through private funding, or Medicaid or Medicare for limited periods of time.

- Q: Will Medicare pay for skilled nursing? A: With a qualifying hospital stay, Medicare typically covers days 1-20 of skilled nursing and rehabilitation. A Medicare-set daily coinsurance rate will be assessed for days 21-100. Medicare payment rules are very stringent and vary depending on several factors.
